Our Biblical Beliefs

We believe God is the Supreme Being; the Creator and Ruler of all that is; the Self-existent One who is perfect in power, goodness, and wisdom.

We know certain things to be true of God for one reason: in His mercy He has revealed some of His qualities to us. God is spirit, by nature intangible (John 4:24). God is One, but He exists as three Persons—God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit (Matthew 3:16-17). God is infinite (1 Timothy 1:17), incomparable (2 Samuel 7:22), and unchanging (Malachi 3:6). God exists everywhere (Psalm 139:7-12), knows everything (Psalm 147:5; Isaiah 40:28), and has all power and authority (Ephesians 1; Revelation 19:6).

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He was born into this world through a virgin birth, fully God and fully man. He lived a sinless life qualifying Him to become the sacrifice for our sin. He willing died on the cross to pay for the sin of man. God raised Him from the dead and He appeared alive to His followers before ascending into Heaven. There He reigns over all creation and is preparing a reward for those who believe and trust in Him for their salvation and who live according to His will. One day He will return in power and glory to lead the living and the dead to judgment. Matthew 1:24-25, John 1:1, John 14:2-3, Timothy 3:15, Acts 10:42

Holy Spirit

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity and every believer receives His presence. Through his power believers are enabled to live a godly life. Luke 11:13, Galatians 5:22, Ephesians 1:13-14

The Bible

The Bible is the inspired, infallible, authoritative Word of God. It is our guide for living. We have no other manual. 2 Timothy 3:16

BridgePointe does not have an official membership roll. Salvation in Christ makes one a member of God’s church. No man can vote one in or out. Galatians 3:27-29, Ephesians 2:19

The Church

There is only one church in God’s sight and it is made up of all those that have believed in and accepted Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. We are a non-denominational church who believes in the unity of God’s Church. We are affiliated with the Church of God headquartered in Anderson, Indiana (www.jesusisthesubject.org). Affiliation gives accountability without control. Each church is autonomous with the ability to determine its own direction, budget, teaching and staff. 1 Corinthians 1:10-13

Holiness of the Believer

God’s Spirit enables us to live above daily continual sin. At the acceptance of Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord we are kept by His grace and we are empowered to sustain a continuing relationship with Him. 1 Corinthians 10:13, Hosea 6:6, 1 John 1:9

Spiritual Gifts

The Holy Spirit gives one or more spiritual gifts to each Christian. We believe every believer is a minister and is encouraged to find, in God’s timing, his or her place of service in the Body of Christ, the Church. 1 Corinthians 12:4-7.

We are committed to:

The Great Commandment: …love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind… and the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. Matthew 22:37-39 (NIV)

The Great Commission: …go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all of the commands I have given you. Matthew 18:19-20 NLT
